The Edmonds Photomarathon will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at which time, a list of 6 topics, or themes will be announced on our Facebook Page and on this website.

In order to participate, you must register and pay the fee of $35. Any photos from non-registered participants will be removed.

Participants will have 6 hours, until 4:00pm, to capture and upload photos to our Dropbox account provided to registrants only. Participants may only submit one photo for each topic, but are not required to submit photos for all 6 themes. There will be one winner for each theme, and one "People's Choice" winner overall.

All photos must be taken on the day of the event. (Be sure sure your digital calendar is turned on to the right date!) This year, photos are not limited to the Edmonds area. The world is your canvas!

You may shoot photos in color or black & white, or use filters etc, BEFORE you shoot, but no photo apps or tools (Photoshop, Instagram, etc) may be used on photos afterward. Photos may be cropped.

Photos should be labeled by topic, so it is clear which theme you are interpreting. Remember though, only one photo per theme. Be sure you have permission before taking photos of people, especially when photographing children.

Participant gives permission to the Rotary Club of Edmonds to use the photo images on our website or for publicity purposes, including a public exhibition of entries.

A professional judge will determine the winners for each category. Winners will be notified via email and on our website, social media, and other news outlets. Awards will be presented through snail mail.

An exhibition of all winners will be displayed at Rotary’s Oktoberfest Photomarathon Booth on September 15 & 16, 2023 at the Frances Anderson Center in downtown Edmonds. Anyone attending this year’s Oktoberfest will be able to vote on the “People’s Choice” photo.

Proceeds from this event will go to the Rotary Club of Edmonds. Be sure to check out our website for information about our community projects.
